Isle of Skye

In June me and my best friend went on a road trip around Scotland. One of the places we went to was the Isle of Skye, it was so beautiful so I just wanted to share with you guys some of the things we got up to there!

1. The first place we visited was one of the main towns, Portree, it's a gorgeous little town, nip down to the harbour to see the pretty colourful houses!
2. We visited Kilt Rock, a rock that is said to resemble a kilt, hence the name!
3. Talisker beach is an awesome grey sandy beach on Skye, we made friends with a few peacocks where we parked, we couldn't decide if they wanted to attack us or jump in the car!
4. We attempted to climb up to the old man of Storr, unfortunately the weather was against us and we had to climb back down as at one point we couldn't even see the path ahead - we shall return and visit it next time though!
5. We visited Neist Point Lighthouse. It was amazing but so strange! There are lots of little cottages situated around the lighthouse that look like they are abandoned, but inside the kitchen tiles are gleaming and the beds are made! Definitely worth a visit, it is ever so interesting!
6. One of my favourite things we did on Skye was visit the coral beach Claigan. It is now one of my favourite beaches I have ever visited and I can't wait to return. It was also one of the strangest beaches I have ever been to, whilst standing on the white sands on one side in the sea were cheeky seals bobbing up and down in the water and on the other side on the grass verge were lots of cows walking down onto the sands - it was amazing!
7. Take a boat trip from Elgol - the people who run the boat trips are really lovely and it was interesting to learn about the other islands near by, I would love to visit Eigg one day, it sounds beautiful!
8. The fairy pools were a beautiful place to visit and would highly recommend climbing down to see the series of beautiful waterfalls and pools!

There will be more blog posts to follow on the other beautiful places we visited on our trip!
Stay Tuned. x
