A few weeks back now I went on a little welsh road trip with my two of my closest friends. We had been meaning to do something like this since we passed our driving tests and this year we finally got round to it!
We started off driving to Llandudno. We had one day and night there as we drove early so had pretty much a full day when we arrived. We just had a chilled day on West Shore beach, literally a 3 minute walk from where we stayed. It is a gorgeous beach and a much nicer alternative to the touristy Llandudno pier!
The next morning we headed to Abersoch. Non of us had ever been to Abersoch and for years we had wanted to try this very basic but incredible gem of a campsite overlooking Hells Mouth (see below).
Treheli farm is the name of the campsite, it is run by a lovely man and is only £15.00 per pitch per night so each it was £5.00 per night, incredible for the views we had.
We had a very scary walk down to the beach, but oh so worth it, there was literally no one on this giant stretch so we had the beach all to ourselves!
That night we drove into Abersoch town (approx. 15 minute drive from the campsite) and got fish and chips on the beach on Abersoch beach, you can't really go wrong with a lovely bit of fish and chips on a beach!
Second day in Abersoch and we really dropped on with the weather! We headed down to the main Abersoch Beach again and had a lovely day enjoying the sun. This is the main tourist beach, so would recommend getting down early to ensure a space on the beach to sit and set up camp!
For lunch we went to Fresh in Abersoch's town as it had been recommended to us! The food and cocktails were amazing and it's a lovely little place, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a light lunch and a tasty tipple!
That evening we had a BBQ, which the campsite is totally fine with which is a bonus! It was so lovely and chilled.
So this is us on the last day in Abersoch planning our route back to Llandudno. We wanted to hit a pretty beach or town on the way back through, so stay tuned for part two of the journey to find out what we got up to next!
